Student Visa requirements for New Zealand
Student Visa - Study in New Zealand for more than 3 months
If you want to study a full-time course in New Zealand that’s longer than 3 months in total duration, you’ll need a Fee Paying Student Visa.
• Your student visa is normally issued for the same length of time as the study you’ve paid for.
• Depending on your visa conditions, you may be able to work up to 20 hours a week during the term and full-time over the holidays.
Visitor Visa - Study in New Zealand for up to 3 months

If you want to take a short course of study in New Zealand, a visitor visa may be the best choice of visa for you.
A visitor visa allows you to take one or more courses lasting up to 3 months in total.

Pathway Visa - Study up to 3 years for pre approved programmes

The pathway student visa allows you to study up to 3 consecutive study programmes or courses for up to 5 years. For example, you could take an English language course, followed by foundation studies, then a degree programme. Your study plan (including all programmes/courses) must be pre-approved for this visa.
