Cost of Living in the US 

The estimated living cost for the US is around $10000 to $18000 per year, which includes your accommodation costs, room, and board, food, travel, textbooks, clothing, and entertainment expenses as well. The cost may vary according to the place you are going to stay. It's helpful to plan ahead  before going out for your daily and basic needs. Below are some inputs that have been considered while estimating the living expenses-

  1. Books and study material costs around $900 to $2000 per year

  2. Travel costs within the US will be from $300 to $700

  3. Accommodation will cost between $5000 and $7500 per year

  4. For living off-campus, the cost of renting an apartment will be between $300 and $600 a month but could be higher depending on the location of the school. 

  5. Meals should cost around $2500 a year if you do not eat out too many times

  6. Shopping for clothes will cost more than $500 annually if you are in a cold country

  7. Personal and variable expenses will be around $2000 per year

Accommodation Cost

Most colleges offer their international students on-campus residence. where students usually share a room with 2 or 3 other students. Colleges provide daily essentials like water, electricity, and the internet. On average the charge is between $5000-$8000 per year, but this cost varies depending on the campus.

Another option is to stay in an apartment with other students outside the campus, either on sharing basis or live alone. For a single bedroom apartment rent is approximately between $6,000-$15,000 per year. The rent depends on the area you are staying in.
